Bethesda Dance Center is a fun, warm, age-appropriate dance environment that values quality training, effort, growth, and respect. Our goal is to provide a dance education that will instill in our dancers a joy of dancing through life--whether on stage or on a dance floor.

About

Advanced Acro works toward mastery of side aerials, diving front walkovers (with preparation for a front aerial), back handsprings, sustained chest stands, tinsicas and rolling tinsicas, and contortion work. This 60-minute class has a heavier, more time-intensive emphasis on strength and flexibility training, a focus on dance technique and aesthetics, and an expectation of at-home work. This class will perform in the Recital and has an attendance policy: starting in January, dancers may not miss more than 5 classes.

Required equipment

REQUIRED ATTIRE: Regulation leotard in MARINE from the BDC Nimbly Shop (choose from multiple styles/materials available). REQUIRED SHOES: No shoes are required for AcroDance - dancers will dance barefoot. OPTIONAL ATTIRE: Footless or Convertible Tights (skin tone match). Leggings or Dance Shorts (black).

Prerequisites

Dancers are required to be enrolled in the Core Class Program (Elements, Foundations, Progressions, or Dynamics). An AcroDance evaluation is needed to enroll.
