KID Museum is a Bethesda, Maryland maker museum whose mission is to foster the "Mind of a Maker" in kids and youth, built around four core values: curiosity, collaboration, creativity and compassion. It runs the Invent the Future Challenge plus field trips, after-school programs, camps, workshops and Sunday open-exploration sessions across electronics, coding, robotics, woodworking and textiles, and hosts birthday parties built around hands-on maker workshops.

About

A birthday party combining museum exploration time with a 1-hour private workshop (choose from 6 workshop options: Robot Racers, Making Magic, Mini-KID Arcade, Woodblock Characters, 3D Printing, or Custom Wooden Marble Maze). Base package: 10 kids + 2 adults; $22/additional child, $12/additional adult (max 30 total guests). Includes a KID t-shirt for the birthday child and space for decorations/refreshments. Closed-toe shoes required; minimum 1 adult per 8 children. Book up to 4 months ahead, minimum 3 weeks notice.

Theme: Party workshops (choose one)

Choose one workshop; all are included in the party price.

Robot Racers (Ages 5-7)

Race Sphero robots or program them through mazes; each guest decorates a pre-laser-cut trophy.

Making Magic (Ages 6-10)

Build a light-up circuit to create a custom wand to take home.

Mini-KID Arcade (Ages 9+)

Design and build mini analog arcade games with launchers; take the game home.

Woodblock Characters (Ages 7-9)

Make a miniature block-head character with interchangeable parts, using drills.

3D Printing (Ages 10+)

Learn TinkerCAD and print one original design (ready for pick-up a week after the party).

Custom Wooden Marble Maze (Ages 7-9)

Build a tilt-controlled wooden maze with drills, screws, hammers and obstacles.

Logistics

- Availability: Sundays during Open Explore; 10:30 AM with a 10 AM set-up; 2:00 PM with a 1:30 PM set-up. - Birthday parties can be booked up to 4 months in advance with a minimum of three week advance booking notice. - Parties are paid in full at time of booking.

Rules

- One adult is required for every eight children. - Food and beverages are not included but you are welcome to bring packaged snacks (nut free), pizza, cupcakes / cake and drinks of your choice. - All party guests must wear closed toes shoes.

10/10 Staff is engaged. Activities tailored to the children. Adult chaperones enjoyed as well. STEAM.
