Since 1971, MYB has been successfully preparing young dancers for a career in the performing arts as well as providing classes to dancers of all ages and levels, and by presenting professional quality, yet accessible, award-winning ballet performances, for the entire region.

About
The Pre-Professional Division builds on a student's technique by developing physical strength and refining vocabulary and performance quality. Pointe work is introduced in Level 4 and developed over the next four years, with supplemental classes in Variations, Repertoire, Partnering, Jazz, Modern, Pilates, and other street styles depending on the level. Level 7 and 8 focus on refining technique, developing artistry, and preparing students for a professional career in dance. Dancers are invited to perform in professional full-length productions, including The Nutcracker, Coppélia, Swan Lake, Paquita, and La Bayadère. MYB does not charge performance participation or costuming fees. Level 8 also includes participation in MYB’s Studio Company, which helps to bridge the gap between student and professional by maximizing personal coaching and performing opportunities. Registration is open throughout the year, with acceptance and placement determined by audition for new students and teacher recommendation for returning students, based on ability rather than age. Level 7 and Level 8 include 11 classes per week.
