Bethesda Dance Center is a fun, warm, age-appropriate dance environment that values quality training, effort, growth, and respect. Our goal is to provide a dance education that will instill in our dancers a joy of dancing through life--whether on stage or on a dance floor.

About

Foundations focuses on producing well-rounded dancers in ballet, tap, and jazz. The class begins with a ballet section where dancers participate in barre and center floor exercises to build their technique. Dancers then learn a combination of tap and jazz/hip hop, developing a sense of rhythm while building strength, control, and coordination, and will perform TWO dances in the Recital. Ballet is an essential component to developing as a dancer: all technical work such as leaps, turns, kicks, extensions, and body control stem from ballet training, as does the understanding of body alignment and isolations. Ballet training allows dancers to quickly pick up the styles of jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop.
