About
Level 4: Introducing the Arms Once the kick has been established as the foundation of the stroke, the arms can be built in. The stroke always starts from the top and accelerates through the bottom. To advance to the next level, the swimmer must maintain proper body position (feet and arms) at the surface of the pool while still maintaining a strong 6 beat kick. Students will also work on the front and back crawls for 5 yards and the kneeling dive.
Required equipment
Bring a swimsuit, towel, goggles (if preferred), a swim cap for longer hair, and a change of clothes. Some schools may require specific items, like swim diapers for toddlers.
Prerequisites
Swimmer must demonstrate a strong 6 beat kick at the surface of the pool while maintaining the proper body position.
