Salsa With Silvia 4 Kids is a family-owned dance studio founded by Silvia Alexiev, whose kids program launched in 2016. From studios in Washington, DC and downtown Bethesda, it teaches children ballet, hip hop, jazz, tap, modern, Latin dance and Mommy and Me classes, plus bilingual dance-focused summer camps, with an emphasis on fun, discipline and confidence.

Petite Ballet at Salsa with Silvia is a charming, semester-long introductory ballet class crafted for independent young dancers ages 3-4, where little ones step into the world of ballet without caregivers present. Children learn foundational ballet techniques -- including basic positions, plies, tendus, degages, simple releves, jumps, turns, and graceful port de bras -- while incorporating props like ribbons and scarves. This class participates in the end-of-semester recital production. Attire: Ballet leotard, tights and ballet shoes for girls and stretchy pants, t-shirt and ballet slippers for boys.
