About
Tap dance bridges the divide between music and dance by adding the element of sound to an otherwise visual art form. Students will develop an understanding of music concepts such as counting rhythms, synchronization, and keeping time. Broadway Tap is done to music, which helps train dancers to follow a tempo and hear phrases and subdivisions within music. Rhythm Tap is danced a capella, or without music, so as to emphasize the percussive aspect of tap dance.
